In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth, and all that dwell therein. In Genesis 1:31, He declared that it was very good. “And God saw every thing that He had made, and, behold, it was very good.” How did things go from being very good to being very bad? The answer is sin. Sin separates us from God. He created us in His image, but we have free will to follow Him or not. Many chose not to. They go against the way God created us to live, and sin corrupts the desire to live according to God’s will.
Thanks be to God, He made a way to reconcile us back to himself, by sending Jesus, his one and only begotten Son, who paid the price for us willingly. Romans 5:8 says, “But God commanded his love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Jesus did not die while we were very good, but while we were yet sinners; very bad. We can’t save ourselves, but we have a Savior, Jesus Christ, who can save us from the consequences of sin, which is death; spiritual death. But if we choose Jesus as our LORD and Savior, we can live and have eternal life. In this life we will die physically, but we will have eternal life spiritually. What will you choose today? Life or death.
